China Reimposes Curfew In Riot-Hit Urumqi City

(RTTNews) - Chinese authorities have reimposed curfew in the riot hit Urumqi city following fresh protests and clashes between Muslim Uighurs and riot police after Friday evening prayers, said officials and media reports.
The decision to reimpose curfew came after at least two mosques in the city defied orders and opened for Friday's prayers. The clashes broke out after hundreds of Muslim Uighurs gathered outside the mosques despite an order to stay at home for Friday's prayers, in protest against the order.
